Gary is a brother in the Lord who has an Internet ministry that you can find at:

Gary's quote reminds me of a laymen whom I heard in 1971. He was talking about the awesome power of the Word of God and how the Word had changed his life...as he stood on the promises.

He asked his audience about how to remove darkness. "Do you get out a broom and sweep the air to drive all the darkness out the front door???"

Of course the answer is no. A broom cannot sweep darkness out. Then he asked us why a broom couldn't sweep darkness out of the room. Have you ever wondered about that??

Darkness is not "a something"...darkness is the absence of something...and that something is light!!! You can't sweep out "a nothing" because a nothing has no substance...but light is "a something" and it has substance of a kind. And so we go to the light switch and turn on the light and the darkness in that room is no more."

That was a real eye-opener for me. Gary is right! God's truth destroys the devil's lies...because the devil's lies are "a nothing," compared to the Word of God! God's ANOINTED Word is something glorious...God's Word sweeps the darkness so completely from the room that not a single bit of darkness can stay...and the darkness is gone at the speed of light. But it takes the ANOINTED Word to do it. If the Spirit of God does not move upon that Word it's power can be limited.

That Christian laymen, back in 1971, went on to say that too often the people of God have brooms in their church to sweep darkness. Their brooms are programs they hope will sweep the darkness out...when all they really need is the light....Jesus is that light...and Jesus is the living Word of God...and so when we quote the Holy Scripture, believe and God's Spirit anoints that Word,... Jesus is made manifest in the situation by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Thank God for that laymen...he taught me something that few have ever shared with me.
